
Fair Royalty

Fair Queen 2023—Janae Sutherland
Janae Sutherland was elected as the 2023 Fair Queen. She has lived in Pagosa Springs her whole life where she has maintained status as a straight A student in High School. She plans to attend college with a goal of receiving a degree in English and History and move forward with a career as an elementary school teacher.
Janae has served as a counselor with a local youth camp and feels a duty to be an example to them and build trust with them. She has volunteered at the Community Center and with Habitat for Humanity. She appreciates what the town and the mountains have to offer and, in addition to hunting, she spends her free time fishing, boating, riding ATVs and enjoys local activities including the Balloon Festival, Rodeos, and the July 4th Parade.

Fair Princess 2023—Lilly Taylor
Lilly Taylor was chosen as the 2023 Fair Princess. She shares her faith as a volunteer for the Good News Club where she can be a positive role model for other youth.
Lilly has a horse and enjoys riding and caring for other animals as well even helping with the cattle on her family’s ranch. She has been in the 4H program for a number of years and participates in the Horse Project and the Dog Project. Her family has been involved in the Fair and in 4H for several generations. Lilly loves coming to the Fair to visit the animals and join in the fun. She said she learns something new each time she attends.

Fair Junior Princess 2023—Olivia Theys
Olivia Theys was selected as the 2023 Fair Junior Princess. She has lived in Pagosa her entire life and has family who are Archuleta County natives. Olivia attends a local elementary school, is active in the community, and has been in the Girl Scout program for years learning leadership skills.
Olivia hopes that her passion for making the world a better place, being dependable, and having positive team skills will be used in her position on the Fair Royalty Court enabling her to be a great representative for the County Fair.
